Expanding Pathways Through the Horizon Scholars Program at Oklahoma State University
This year, Oklahoma State University launched the Horizon Scholars Program, a landmark initiative supported by more than $12 million in donor contributions. Among the founding supporters were Joe and Monica Eastin, whose long-standing commitment to OSU and student success continues to shape educational opportunities across the region.
The program is designed to support high-potential students with comprehensive scholarships, leadership development, career readiness training, study-abroad support, and tailored academic guidance. Beginning with the Fall 2026 freshman class, Horizon Scholars will experience a structured, multi-year pathway that prepares them for success both on campus and beyond graduation.
A Legacy Rooted in Opportunity
For the Eastins, supporting the Horizon Scholars Program is a natural extension of their deep connection to OSU and their belief that education creates opportunity. Joe, an OSU alumnus who built one of the nation’s leading compliance and contractor management companies, has frequently spoken about how access to mentorship, leadership experiences, and career preparedness shaped his own journey.
Their vision helped spark the creation of the Eastin Center for Career Readiness, a nationally recognized hub on the OSU campus focused on helping students bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience. The Center provides students with personalized coaching, leadership training, internship preparation, and professional development support.
The launch of Horizon Scholars builds on that legacy—expanding support to students earlier in their college journey and offering structured resources that empower long-term success.
